Polymer Comply Europe (PCE) is pleased to announce its next live webinar on The Plastics Paradox - The Truth about Plastics & the Environment, organised on behalf of European Plastics Converters (EuPC).
Save the date and register now! The live webinar will take place on the 7th of October 2021 between 15.00 - 17.00 CET. We will welcome Dr. Chris DeArmitt World-class plastic materials scientist who spent over 1000 hours reading thousands of scientific articles and reports to find the truth about plastics and its real impacts on the environment. By reviewing what is thought to be the World’s largest collection of peer-reviewed data, he found that almost everything we’ve been told is soundly disproven by science.
HERE IS WHAT SCIENCE TELLS US… (based on the publication of Dr. Chris DeArmitt)
Plastics are less than 1% of materials and waste
Plastics are proven to have massively reduced waste
Plastics are usually the greenest choice as shown by many lifecycle analyses (LCA)
People cause litter, so blaming materials is unjust
Plastics degrade rather rapidly (a bag in under one year outdoors)
Most microplastics research is junk and there is no credible evidence of harm
There are no floating islands of plastic - Plastics are not a significant threat to turtles or whales
